As we welcome the Lunar New Year, I find myself reflecting on the journey that brought me here – from my childhood in Hong Kong to building Pixie Mood in Canada. Growing up, the Lunar New Year was a time of vibrant celebrations, cherished traditions, and a deep sense of family connection. Even today, those moments continue to inspire me as both a designer and an Asian business owner.
My upbringing has shaped the way I approach design. I’m still deeply connected to Asian fashion influences, which inspire so much of my work. At Pixie Mood, I strive to create a unique blend of the bold, trend-forward aesthetics I grew up loving in Asia with the minimalist, functional style that resonates here in the West. This fusion is at the heart of everything we create, and it’s my way of sharing my heritage while making something fresh and modern for our community.
Equally important to me is creating products that align with our values of sustainability and compassion. At Pixie Mood, we use cruelty-free materials and prioritize eco-friendly practices to craft handbags and accessories that are kind to the planet and animals.
